10 Monday Random Thoughts

1. Has anyone ever owned a Corvair?
2. Do the lyrics, "She'll be comin' around the mountain when she comes?" have a secret - or not so secret - sexual meaning?
3. What can you make from frozen avocados?
4. What is something I absolutely must do when I visit Vegas?
5. I daydream about nacho-flavored Doritos.
6. When people say they want to be cremated, they should accompany that wish with a plan for what to do with their ashes.
7. Every time I see in the news that someone is missing, I wonder if they ran away from an abusive situation and think how sad it is that everyone is trying to find them. People should be able to just disappear if they want to.
8. If you had a PhD, what would you use it for?
9. What are your thoughts on parallel universes?
10. I'm reading "Before We Were Yours." Best book ever!

My neighbour had one - Corvair- back in the day. It was cute.
I've read reviews about the book. 👍😊
Interesting points and.. food for thought. 🙄🤔

... is there another way to look at it...
Can you? Only One In Ten Can Read This

My aunt had a yellow Corvair convertible. Those were interesting little cars.

The book is worth the read. It's based on a true story.

1. Has anyone ever owned a Corvair? I owned a Corvair motor for a while
2. Do the lyrics, "She'll be comin' around the mountain when she comes?" have a secret - or not so secret - sexual meaning? Yes

5. I daydream about nacho-flavored Doritos. I do not
6. When people say they want to be cremated, they should accompany that wish with a plan for what to do with their ashes. Will they worrying about it after the cremation?
7. Every time I see in the news that someone is missing, I wonder if they ran away from an abusive situation and think how sad it is that everyone is trying to find them. People should be able to just disappear if they want to. Agreed
8. If you had a PhD, what would you use it for? Good
9. What are your thoughts on parallel universes? Whenever I think about parallel universes I end up beside myself.
10. I'm reading "Before We Were Yours." Best book ever! Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was very good too.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

1. My aunt had one back in the early 60s. I remember thinking it was very cool.
2. Probably not, originally, but times change!
3. I great throwing rock. (I don't care for avocado)
4. When are you going? My daughter lives there now and you can take photos of my granddaughter for me.
5. Just...….weird
6. Good point
7. I agree but in that case they should at least let someone know their intent.
8. I don't need one. I'm official spell-checker and editor for one already.
9. They should stay parallel. This one confuses me enough already without having another intersect it.

1. No. My parents were super-fans of Ralph Nader. Unsafe At Any Speed quelled any enthusiasm for Corvairs.
2. Nothing sexual I am aware of. I understood it to offer hope of deliverance from earthly suffering through the Second Coming.
3. Avocado seems to adapt well to a wide range of recipes beyond traditional guacamole. I enjoy them sweetened and used in smoothies.
4. Cirque de Soleil (any of them....but "Love" is my favorite).
5. Yes! I only eat them after I've burned 5,000+ calories on some longish adventure, but I am technically an *addict*.
6. I have had the honor of scattering ashes for friends and family....usually without specific guidance from the deceased. I enjoyed the creative effort of selecting and traveling to the *scattering* sites.
7. People can and do *disappear* all the time. The Digital Age has made such an endeavor more difficult, but I understand that it can still be done.
8. I have ZERO interest in ever being addressed as "Doctor", but I respect the effort and body of work necessary to achieve a PhD and- had Life presented both an appropriate passion project and the opportunity to undertake a PhD- would have enjoyed to the journey to writing/defending a dissertation. I would have leveraged the doctorate to a more lucrative career.
9. I have subscribed to the concept of a *parallel universe* since reading Harlan Ellison and Philip K. Dick in my teens.
10. Not familiar with either the title or the author, but the synopsis I read on-line (and 11,000 5-star reviews) put it on my *reading list*. Sounds like a classic Dickens novel!

did, sold it for twice what I paid..... They where killers!
2. Probably!
3. Throw it away and make Martinis..
6. Yes cremate me, put my ashes in my ex's air cleaner on her car
8. Waste it like most Piled Higher and Deeper (PhD) do!
9. I do what the voices tell me too......

#1- Yes, a '60 Corvair Wagon, which I used as a one person camper for awhile, wish I still had it ! & I also owned a Corvair Greenbriar, which if you dont know, was a Corvair Van, the passenger version, and while it over heated now & then, was the best van I owned until my 1st Plymouth Voyager.
#2-Maybe, but the lyrics sound like a cowboys dream sequence after being out with the cows to long
#3-Not much, as they turn black upon being thawed and start to rot very quickly
#4-Go the NEON sign museum, some magical art there. Also, visit one of the many NUDE resorts there and get an all-over tan, and maybe get luckier than you will in any casino !!
#5-Remind me never to try a mouth fuck while your sleeping !!
#6-Yes, so true. My Mom DID make such a request, but me dad refused and her ashes are still unscattered. My Dad also wanted to be cremated, and was, but he never specified how his ashes were to be disposed, so his & my Moms remain side by side until I can figure out the best disposition !
#7-I agree, people should have the right to privacy that should include disappearing from their current life as long as the purpose is NOT to escape pending bills owed to others, or to do so will maliciously hurt someone else.
#8-I have a degree, 2 in fact, but they proved to be much less useful then promised. A degree is not nearly as important than just DOING SOMETHING GOOD !!
#9-Physics taught me that no such thing is likely, so I remain thinking such is pure fiction !
#10-Dont know the book, but nice someone still reads books these days besides me !!

Whoa, after one shot of expensive cognac, how in the world can I even respond to a question/answer session? I'm thinking. . .is this some "defending one's doctoral presentation" or words to that effect?

Phew. Let me sleep on this one.

1. LOL! Did you do anything with the motor?
2. I thought so.
3. Ewww.
4. I like to plan ahead.
5. I don't have to share my Doritos then.
6. They won't be worrying about it, but someone might.
7. Some people have legit reasons for disappearing.
8. Better than bad, for sure.
9. LOL! I love it!
10. I looked up the book. It seems interesting. You might like "Daisy Jones and the Six." I understand it was not so loosely based on Fleetwood Mac. I'll never look at Stevie Nicks the same way again.

1. They were something else.
2. True.
3. LOL! It's the world's most perfect food. (my opinion)
4. I'm going around the third week of next October. I can definitely take pictures of your little cutie.
5. They go great with guacamole. LOL!
6. You don't think about it until you are in possession of someone's ashes.
7. Unless it would put them in danger to know.
8. Yes you are.
9. I have all these thoughts about parallel universes, among other things. I like to ponder the possibilities.
10. I'll have to check him out.

1. Especially the convertibles.
2. Hmmm...I'll have to check out the lyrics again.
3. I've never tried them in a smoothie, but I could see that would be good.
4. I've never seen Cirque de Soleil. That sounds fun!
5. Hello fellow addict.
6. I'm in possession of my ex-husband's ashes. I have no idea what to do with them. He was Catholic, and the priest said it's traditional to bury them with his mom. That seems a little weird to me, although he was definitely a mama's boy.
It's awkward knowing his ashes are in the next room. I can't say anything ugly about him now because he might hear me. I want to take my time to decide because I want to put him some place he would have loved.
7. You would probably have to go off the grid. It's hard to even imagine how that would be possible these days.
8. Surprisingly, defending the dissertation is the fun part. It's like a celebration of your findings. I make my grown kids call me Dr. Mom.
9. I like thinking of alternate realities, although I live in a happy one here and now.
10. You know, it kind of does sound like a Dickens novel. I finished reading it today. I must say I was deeply touched by this story. It was the 11,000 5-star reviews that grabbed me too. Now it's 11,001.

2. LOL!
3. I like the way you think.
6. LOL! That's hilarious. Who knows, that may be the key to immortality. I understand Keith Richards snorted his dad's ashes, and he's still hanging in there.
8. It would be a shame to waste it when you give up 10 years of your life for it.
9. Good idea.
